Lovato Scholarship Benefit Recap
On March 18, we teamed up with Demi Lovato to put together the Lovato Scholarship Benefit at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. All the proceeds from this event went straight to the Lovato Treatment Scholarship, which in return will be rewarded to someone who is struggling with addiction or mental health issues. All the donations from our Hope Dealer collection also go towards the Lovato Scholarship. In honor of her father and his story, this scholarship was created by Demi herself to ensure that money wouldn’t be a factor for someone that is in need of help.
Demi was only one of many that performed that night. Joe Jonas, Bea Miller, Kelly Rowland, Christina Perri and Sirah all got on stage to show their support and share their stories with the crowd. Fans came out from all over the country to be apart of this night, and several big name celebrities were spotted including Perez Hilton, Becky G and Lance Bass.
While on stage, Demi made sure to thank all the guests in attendance and reassured them that they were helping make her dream of helping others a reality. There are so many ways to help make things better, and Demi uses her music and fame to do so.
Perez Hilton helped Wilmer Valderrama in surprising Demi on stage that night. While doing a Q&A, Lovato was asked where Wilmer was and if she wanted to say a message for him. Half way through explaining how her heart was broken that he couldn’t be there, she turned around to see her boyfriend holding a cake. He lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” for her milestone of three years sober, and Demi held back tears from how happy she was.
The night was closed with emotional performances of her songs “Nightingale” and “Skyscraper” and Demi thanked the crowd once more before leaving the event.
A big shout out and thank you to everyone who came out to support! Every dollar raised went to the Lovato Treatment Scholarship.
