REGULAR TEENAGE HEROS HELP SAVE LIVES FROM BURNING BUILDING

Two teens are being hailed as heroes for helping get people out of a burning apartment building in the morning of September 3rd in southwest Detroit.
Raul Lule, 17, and Dalvin Criddell, 16, said they were driving past the apartment building on Dragoon Street around 3 a.m. when they saw the smoke.
The two ran into the building and started banging on doors. Their efforts helped wake Robert Villapando and his wife. The teens helped the couple out of the building.
“Well, I guess it saved our life. If we would have slipped through all that smoke, we’d probably be dead right now,” Villapando said.
Several other people were able to get out of the building on their own.
“There’s people’s lives at stake, you know? If I can help save a life, why not? Why not stop and save a life?” Lule said.
The teens are starting their senior year at Cesar Chavez High School.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
